The Victoria Open Golf Tournament

First held in 1981, the Pro-Am Victoria Open is the longest-running annual Canadian Tour. It is held on a rotational basis on four world-class Victoria golf courses: Royal Colwood, Gorge Vale, Uplands and Cordova Bay.

2003 marked the tournament’s 20th anniversary and the fifth time that Royal Colwood has hosted this event. The Victoria Open was the first stop on the CPGA tour and was also considered to be the “best stop.” For almost a decade, players have given Victoria this designation based on the quality of the courses, longevity of the tournament and superb hospitality from Victorians – fans, volunteers and residents alike.

Veterans of the Victoria Open who went on to achieve success include Dave Barr, Steve Stricker and two-time winner of the World Golf Championship and current Masters Champion, Mike Weir.
