Victoria and Area
One of the prime golf destinations in Canada, Victoria offers year-round golfing. There are 15 public and private golf courses in Victoria and the surrounding areas, including Sooke, Colwood, Metchosin and Sidney.
Central Island
Farther up-Island, the Nanaimo, Parksville and Qualicum Beach area is renowned for wonderful beaches, magnificent views and great golf. There are more than 20 golf courses in this region of the Island. Duncan to Qualicum Beach 97 km (60 mi); Duncan to Nanaimo 51 km (30mi).
The Comox Valley
Returning to the Island Highway and continuing north, Highway 19 leads to Courtenay and the Comox Valley. Tee off on your choice of several spectacular courses and enjoy the views of Mt. Washington and the Comox Glacier. Qualicum Beach to Courtenay 62 km (38 mi). |
Cowichan Valley
A 45-minute drive north from Victoria, along Highway 1, brings you to the beautiful Cowichan Valley and a number of scenic and challenging golf courses. Victoria to Duncan 60 km (38 mi).
The West Coast
From Parksville, 10 kilometres south of Qualicum Beach, Highway 4 leads to an 18-hole course in the Alberni Valley. Farther west, a nine-hole course is located in the park near the stunning, 19 kilometre stretch of sandy Long Beach. Parksville to Port Alberni 50 km (31 mi); Port Alberni to Long Beach 96 km (60 mi).
Campbell River
World-famous salt-water fishing and more great golf choices await in Campbell River. Gold River, near historic Nootka Sound, also offers golf on a scenic nine-hole course. Courtenay to Campbell River 45 km (28 mi) or to Gold River 91km (55mi).
North Island
The northern communities of Port McNeill, Port Alice, and Port Hardy offer golf on courses carved out of the natural landscape. Campbell River to Port Hardy 238 km (148 mi). |
