Victoria Christmas — Season of New Traditions is celebrated annually in Greater Victoria, from late November to January sixth, and includes all the events and activities listed below.
ChristmasTime at The Butchart Gardens
(December 1 to January 6) Thousands of lights replace the summer flowers in these world-famous gardens. Open each evening to the public. Carollers, evening entertainment and restaurants are all on site for your enjoyment.
Helmcken House Christmas
Special tours are available of this traditionally-decorated historic home.
Carr House Christmas
The evening events in this historic James Bay home include a traditional dessert buffet.
Christmas at Craigdarroch Castle
A brilliant example of historic Victorian decorations and lights fills the mansion, which is also available for receptions.
The Fairmont Empress
The annual Festival of Trees showcases more than 50 decorated Christmas trees that deck the halls of this historic hotel. Carollers sing and high tea is served daily.
Twelve Days of Christmas
Daily Christmas events for families and groups take place at the Chateau Victoria Hotel.
Christmas Pops Special
The Victoria Symphony Orchestra presents seasonal performances at the Royal Theatre.
Out of Hand Christmas Craft Sales
Displays and sales of Christmas crafts take place in the Victoria Conference Centre.
Transportation Options
Horse-drawn carriage tours through Victoria to view Christmas displays are available for groups and individuals. Double-decker and private bus tours through the city and to The Butchart Gardens are offered daily.
Shopping
Historic and modern store fronts throughout Victoria's downtown area are decorated for the season. Walking tours are recommended. Special festive events are held in Market Square and at the Victoria Eaton Centre. Stores are open daily until 9 pm during Christmas season.
