Flower Glossary

 

 
  Birch leaves    are given to a man by a woman as a show of encouragement.     Petunia rages "I am furious".
  Calla Lily signifies beauty.     Rose, single full-bloom shows constant love.
  Carnation, white indicates pure and ardent love, as well as good luck.     Rose, pink asks "please believe me".
  Chrysanthemum shows cheerfulness and optimism.     Rose, red indicates love and desire.
  Daffodil tells that "the sun is always shining when I’m with you" and indicates kind regard.     Rose, yellow speaks of infidelity and jealousy, as well as friendship.
  Forget-me-not tells of faithful love and undying memory. These blooms are good when given to a woman.     Roses, white and red together show unity and warmth of heart .
  Gardenia states "I love you in secret" and wishes good luck to a man.     Rosemary is a sign of fidelity and love, as well as remembrance.
  Honeysuckle foretells that a wedding will shortly follow.     Tulip is a declaration of love and the symbol of perfect lover.
  Iris indicates that "I have a message for you".     Tulip, red says "Believe me".
Lilac, mauve asks "Do you still love me?" Tulip, variegated/bicolour suggests beautiful eyes.
Lily of the Valley pleads "Let’s make up". Violet suggests "I return your love" and is good luck to give to a woman.
  Moss shows maternal love and charity.     Zinnia tells of lasting affection.
