Trivia Night And Karaoke
Nearly every Wednesday eve trivia-lovers flock to Northern Quarter for owner Benji Duke’s trivia night. The food is fantastic, the enthusiasm is catching and the quiz is, well, hilarious. It starts at 8:30 p.m., but to secure a table, plan to go for dinner and drinks at around 7 p.m.
After that, sharpen your pencils and prepare to out-geek your fellow quizsters on topics from geography to spelling to the infamous rhyming puzzle: the inky dinky. (Pssst: Northern Quarter is also a great live music venue.)
Now, to let you in on another little secret: Locals also have a bit of a thing for karaoke. And Northern Quarter has a great karaoke night once a month hosted by man-about-town Ken Gordon.
Cherry Bomb Toys & Toy Museum
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, My Little Pony and G.I. Joe are likely names you haven't thought of for a while — but rest assured, B Woodward of Cherry Bomb Toys has been doing all of the thinking for you.
The toy store owner has amassed such an impressive collection of vintage and collectible toys that he's opened a toy museum on the upper level of his store. There you'll find items like a 1970s Fisher Price snowmobile and Meccano from the 1920s. You'll also find Woodward himself and his encyclopedic knowledge of toy history.
