This year, don't leave the Christmas shopping to the last minute! Looking for great decorations and stocking stuffers can be quite enjoyable if you don't leave it until Christmas parties and year-end deadlines take over your calendar. Browse Victoria's Christmas markets to get going on your shopping, discover some local artists and enjoy a cup of hot cider and cookies to get you in the spirit.

Feel the City's Christmas Magic

Extend the season of joy by getting in the spirit early. At the Magic of Christmas Gift Fair (November 15) grab a hot drink and let your senses remember the smell of pine needles and cookies, the sounds of Christmas carols and the radiating feeling of warmth. For a little more magic and another chance to find the perfect gift, also stop by the UVic Winter Artisans Market (November 25).

Local artists open their studios

Discover Local Artists

Unlike your traditional Christmas markets, Oak Bay's artists invite you into their home studios on November 15. Stroll through one of Victoria's most picturesque neighborhoods and get to know the stories that inspired the stunning pieces of art.

A wide selection of great gifts

Hunt Down the Best Gifts

Leave enough time to fully explore the large selection at the Christmas Bazaar (November 22) at Christ Church Cathedral. Between the collection of attic treasures, toys, books, decorations and the silent auction items, you're bound to get a head start on your Christmas shopping. Stop by the Oaklands Winter Market (November 29) for a Christmas-themed food cart festival and a great winter market. In the unlikely event that you can't find a gift at one of 70 stands, you can get crafty and make your own Christmas wreath there. Alternatively, you're guaranteed to find something unique and special if you stroll through the Victoria Flea Market

Get Out of Town

Take the scenic route past beautiful lakes and hills, through late 1800s heritage buildings to discover a truly traditional craft fair. Enjoy the Highlands Winter Craft Fair (November 16) and a lovely Sunday with hot apple cider in one hand and freshly baked pastry in the other. For a spirited time, hop on the Cowichan Christmas Tour (November 15). The hop on hop off bus lets you sample local wines, ciders, cheeses and other culinary delights available throughout the valley.
