The holiday season starts with a bang and the colourful Island Farms Santa Light Parade. Follow the parade of your favourite Christmas icons along Government Street from the Parliament Buildings to Capital Iron for some hot cocoa. (November 28)

The Magic of Christmas

At Christmas, thousands of twinkling lights turn The Butchart Gardens into a colourful and festive sea of lights, beginning with a festive light up ceremony at the Rose Carousel. While you're here, ice skate at the decorated skating rink, enjoy a cup of hot chocolate and listen to traditional carollers at the Magic of Christmas. (December 1 to January 6)
 

Christmas Starlight Cinema

Watch your favourite festive film classics under the stars and with a view of Victoria's beautiful Inner Harbour at Christmas Starlight Cinema at the Delta Ocean Pointe Resort & Spa. (December 1 to December 16)

 

Legislature lit up for christmas 

Christmas Lights Across Canada

Victoria's Legislature lights up with red and green lights as part of the Christmas Lights Across Canada initiative. Listen to festive choral performances as the large sequoia tree lights up for Christmas. (December 3)
 

Music in Market Square

Every Sunday in December, Market Square offers free festive Christmas music to locals and visitors alike. The fun begins with a grand performance by the Greater Victoria Concert Band, followed by the wonderfully sonorous Tuba Christmas. (Begins December 5)

IEOA Truck Light Convoy + Lighted Ship Parade

Not only buildings, but trucks and ships light up to celebrate Christmas. The IEOA Truck Light Convoy begins at Ogden Point, looping through Oak Bay, downtown, Langford and View Royal. The lighted ships will show off their dazzling decorations in Victoria's Inner Harbour. (December 5)
 

Father Christmas in Old Town

The Royal BC Museum turns up the Christmas spirit in its historical Old Town. Wander the decorated streets and meet Father Christmas. (December 5 to December 21)

Sidney Sparkles

Beacon Avenue and Sidney's harbour light up as Santa joins the parade atop the Sidney Fire Department truck, leading you right to the lighted harbour. (December 6)
