1. Colourful Festivals
Discover vivid displays of unbelievable talent at one of Victoria's many free festivals. The Victoria International Kite Festival launches its display of kites with a breathtaking spectacle of lighted kites on May 29 at 9 p.m. at Clover Point. From July 17 to 26, world famous street performers turn downtown Victoria into their stage. They juggle, laugh and sing their way into your heart at the Victoria International Buskers Festival. Downtown's streets become the canvas for colourful chalk paintings at Canada's largest Chalk Festival, launching on September 12.
2. Symphony Splash
On August 2, thousands of visitors and locals head to Victoria's Inner Harbour for the Symphony Splash. Fantastic classical music, cannons and fireworks conclude a wonderful performance by the Victoria Symphony.
3. Pride Week
Show your rainbow colours and celebrate Victoria Pride Week from June 28 to July 5. A large parade ends Pride Week on July 5 and kicks of the OUTstages Festival, a theatre festival dedicated to the queer community.
4. Gold Rush Exhibition
Starting May 13 and running until October 31, Canada's best museum glitters with stunning gold. The Gold Rush! El Dorado in BC exhibition showcases fascinating artifacts, historic treasures and a collection of gold from Columbia's indigenous communities.
5. Street Food Festival & Other Foodie Favourites
Dig into Victoria's culinary scene! Discover flavourful food trucks and local vendors at the Street Food Festival throughout July. Other favourites include the Strawberries & Wine Festival, the Festival of Art & Wine and the North Saanich Flavour Trail.
6. Victoria Day Parade
Vancouver Island's largest parade transforms the entire city into a large celebration on May 18. Complete with marching bands, floats and more this is an event not to miss.

8 . Aboriginal Cultural Festival
Learn about Victoria's rich history firsthand at the Aboriginal Cultural Festival June 19 to 21. Outdoor performances, an artisan craft fair and traditional food celebrate Aboriginal peoples, arts and culture.
9. Art Shows
Home to many talented artists, Victoria gives visitors a glimpse into their lives. Artists showcase their work throughout hotels at Artishow from May to September and at the Sooke Fine Arts Show in July. During the last weekend in August, explore local galleries on an art crawl at the Integrate Arts Festival.
