It's just about that time again! A time where words like Shambhala and Burning Man are mentioned in hushed tones and excited whispers. Internationally acclaimed music festivals are gaining fandom and some have even reached cult status with loyal followers returning year after year. Victoria has reached such lore with one of the most popular music festivals in the country, the Victoria Ska & Reggae Festival.

Victoria Ska & Reggae Festival

The Victoria Ska & Reggae Festival will be returning for its 16th annual setup July 1st -5th bringing an incredible lineup of musicians with strong reggae and Jamaican influence to Victoria's Inner Harbour. The lineup includes favourites like Hepcat, Morgan Heritage and the Red, Gold and Green Machine and many more. This music festival is a festival of the people. Make new friends, enjoy the laid back atmosphere and enjoy amazing performances.

What is SKA?

SKA music is a fusion of Caribbean, Calypso and jazz blues creating a very distinctive sound and genre. SKA is a fixed mark within Victoria's emergent sub-culture and will continue to have a strong presence within the city. Not sure you like Ska & Reggae? Listen in as you walk along the Inner Harbour and join the fun at the free performances on July 5. If you are interested in some SKA goodness, full fest packages or day tickets are currently available at Tourism Victoria's Visitor Centre.
