As the oldest city in the Pacific Northwest, Victoria has a torrid history that comes to life during the month of October. The brilliant colours of fall hint at the plethora of vibrant Halloween-inspired activities on offer in British Columbia's most haunted city.

If you dare to stay the night, check out this insider's look at the most fang-tastic hotel packages to make your stay extra spooky.

1. The Magnolia Hotel & Spa

Throughout October, take advantage of the Magnolia Hotel and Spa's Room with a Boo package, which includes a Ghostly Walk for two, a Haunted Trails map (which will lead you to some of Victoria's most haunted locations) and a Halloween concierge on hand to answer all of your questions. When you book this package, you can also look forward to Halloween treats from Rogers Chocolates delivered to your door as part of the hotel's nightly turndown service.

Tip: Be sure to try the pumpkin-spiced tea in the hotel lobby.

2. The Inn at Laurel Point

Check in to the Inn at Laurel Point for either a scary stay or a sweet treat. The hotel has created two Halloween-themed rooms for guests to choose from for stays between October 11 and 31.

If you're looking for a fright, stay in The Birds suite befitting the great Alfred Hitchock complete with a murder scene... of crows that is. Spend an unforgettable night amongst The Birds, enjoy a dark surprise from pastry chef, Kimberly Vy, a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon Ravenswood and two tickets to Horror Escape Victoria

Tip: Opt to trick or treat at check in; if you choose "trick", bob for apples to receive either a complimentary upgrade or a night's free parking.
