The Island Illustrators Society welcomes the new year with a visual celebration of Canada's 150th birthday. The latest in an annual tradition of new year projects, this series marks the country's sesquicentennial with vintage-style travel posters of some of sights that make Canada famous. It's called Big Canadian Stuff.

An exhibition of the posters opens at Coast Collective Gallery on Jan. 4 and will remain on display until Jan. 29. The opening reception is from 7 to 9 p.m. on Jan. 6 at the gallery, 103 - 318 Wale Rd., Colwood.

Later, it hits the road, travelling to branches of the Greater Victoria Public Library and to Saanich municipal hall.
