Craigdarroch Castle is a National Historic Site built by wealthy coal baron, Robert Dunsmuir. Craigdarroch Castle is a stunning example of Victorian architecture, including exquisite stained-glass windows, woodwork and period antiques. Climb the 87 steps up the grand oak staircase to the Tower for the best views in Victoria. Operated by a nonprofit charity, proceeds from admission fund the ongoing restoration of the Castle.

- Description: When you rent the Castle, you rent the whole Castle, top to bottom. All the restored rooms are available for viewing, as they are during the day. As a designated National Historic site, Craigdarroch Castle, an 1890's mansion, is an exceptional place to entertain personally or for business. As your guests arrive through the Porte-Cochere Entrance and enter the Main Hall, they immediately encounter the magnificent sweeping open oak staircase rising four floors to the Dance Hall. Lavish Victorian era furnishings and decor, exquisite stained glass, and detailed woodwork carved by artisans of days gone by....these all combine to create a warm and expansive entertainment site. With reception space for up to 200 people, our preferred caterers can create a special menu to enhance your event. Additionally a sit-down banquet for up to 80 people can be accommodated over two floors.
