    Planning a Green meeting or event? The Biosphere Comitted Victoria Conference Centre (VCC) is an ideal place to host eco-friendly meetings and events. From energy-efficiency to water conservation and waste management, the VCC will help ensure your event is as sustainable as possible. Since 2009, the VCC has been working with Synergy Enterprises to measurably reduce environmental impacts.

    Carbon Neutral Venue

    Victoria Conference Centre is designated as carbon neutral by noted corporate sustainability management firms Synergy Enterprises and Offsetters. Through its offsets with Offsetters, the VCC supports The Great Bear Forest Carbon Project. The Great Bear Rainforest is home to the largest intact coastal temperate rainforest remaining in the world.

    Eco-Friendly Meeting Facilities

    Victoria Conference Centre operates at the platinum level of BOMA BEST Building Environmental Standards which ensures our team continually looks for ways to tread lightly on the planet with every meeting and event.

    Since 2012, the environmental impact has been greatly reduced. 

    The Carbon Footprint has been reduced by 70% by implementing: 

    • Real-time energy management 
    • LED lighting throughout buildings 
    • High-efficiency equipment upgrades
    • Purchasing Renewable Natural Gas from Fortis BC

    Waste diversion rate increased from 49% to 79%:

    • 7+ stream recycling program including sorting options for organics, Styrofoam, soft plastics, glass, plastics, cardboard and more

    Water consumption reduced by 48%:

    • Low-flow fixtures
    • Replaced water-cooled refrigeration with air-cooled
