About Tourism Victoria
Tourism Victoria (Greater Victoria Visitors and Convention Bureau) is a not-for-profit industry association responsible for the development and promotion of tourism in Greater Victoria.
Working closely with Greater Victoria’s tourism industry, Tourism Victoria promotes and develops tourism throughout the area,
to ensure the prosperity and continued long-term growth of the $1.2 billion industry. Tourism Victoria markets Greater Victoria as a
preferred travel destination to consumers and the travel industry through a variety of joint marketing and promotional campaigns in countries around the world.
Led by a 15-member Board, Tourism Victoria is funded operationally by over 1000 Business Members, making up more that 85% of the annual operating budget.
The remainder of the operating budget is funded by five area municipalities (Victoria, Saanich, Oak Bay, Sidney and Esquimalt) and Tourism British Columbia.
Tourism Victoria’s external marketing activities are funded by a two percent hotel tax.

Our Organization
Marketing
The Marketing division of Tourism Victoria includes the following areas: Destination Marketing, Brand Management, Advertising, Promotions, Digital Strategies, Social Media and Research.
The Marketing department strives to showcase the city as a remarkable business and leisure destination by telling the Greater Victoria story through integrated consumer campaigns, promotions and e-marketing.
Visitor Services & Market Development
The Visitor Services & Market Development division of Tourism Victoria includes the following areas: Visitor Services, Sports Tourism Development, Event Attraction, Corporate Sales and Community Partnerships.
Tourism Victoria's Visitor Services department is responsible for servicing visitor enquiries. This includes providing information, making accommodation bookings, selling activity tickets and responding to mail and email requests.
Market Development is involved in multiple events on an ongoing basis and provides guidance, sales and marketing support, community liaising and, in some cases, funding in order to grow and nurture this vital aspect of our visitor economy.
Sales
Tourism Victoria’s Sales departments include Meeting & Incentive Travel (M&IT), Travel Trade and Travel Media Relations.
The M&IT department is the primary resource for meeting planners and convention organizers considering Victoria as their event destination. Our M&IT sales staff will help identify products, services and facilities that will help ensure a successful, memorable event or meeting. The Travel Trade department provides support to professionals in the tour and travel sector. These typically include tour operators, wholesalers, receptive operators, group leaders and travel agents. Our knowledgeable staff can assist Group and FIT travel planners with itinerary development, familiarization tours, destination information and new product updates. The Travel Media Relations team provides assistance to journalists at home and abroad filing stories about Victoria as a travel destination. We offer help with story development and are available to provide resource materials and background information on Victoria and the surrounding area.
Finance & Corporate Services
Tourism Victoria's Finance & Corporate Services department combines two areas of internal responsibility. Finance includes managing the organization's budgets and financial reporting and providing payroll and human resource administration. Corporate Services includes Office Management, Information Technology, Website Development and Member Services.

Tourism Victoria also partners with various governments and corporations that are fundamental to our operations including: Ministry of Tourism, Trade and Investment, Canadian Tourism Commission, Tourism Vancouver Island, City of Victoria, District of Saanich, Royal BC Museum, Air Canada, Victoria Conference Centre and BC Ferry Services Inc.
