27th Annual Festival of Trees

November 15 – January 7

The Bay Centre

This annual charity event transforms The Bay Centre each year. Get into the Christmas cheer and walk through the forest of lush trees, decorated by local businesses. Vote for your favourite and maybe cross a few names off your holiday shopping list while you’re there.


Uptown Light Up & Parade

November 17

6:10 - 7:00 p.m.

Don't miss out on the annual lighting of Uptown's 54 ft Christmas Tree and Christmas Parade. Grab a warm treat and arrive early to snag a great seat for this event.


Gingerbread Showcase 2018

November 17 – January 6

Daily 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
The Parkside Hotel and Spa

Check out the work of professional and amateur bakers showing off their creative abilities at the annual Gingerbread Showcase, supporting Habitat for Humanity Victoria. This year’s theme, “There’s no place like home.”


Royal Winnipeg Ballet – Nutcracker

November 20 – December 2

Royal Theatre

You may have grown up experiencing the traditional story of the Nutcracker, but this year enjoy a Canadian twist on this classic performance by the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, performed to live music by the Victoria Symphony.


Merridale Christmas at the Farm

November 23 - December 22

Fridays & Saturdays 5:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Merridale Cidery & Distillery 

Head to the farm for a traditional Christmas celebration. Enjoy a long table dinner, screening of the 1996 Classic The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, holiday shopping, entertainment and much more in this festive setting. 


Children’s Christmas Kick Off at The Empress

Library at The Fairmont Empress

Kick off your child’s holiday festivities with cookie decorating and hot chocolate at The Fairmont Empress. Then join the celebration on Government Street for the Annual Island Farms Santa’s Parade.


37th Island Farms Santa’s Light Parade

November 24

4:00– 8:00 p.m.
Centennial Square

Take part in the pre-parade festivities in Christmas Square (Centennial Square). Then watch the parade commence at 5:00 p.m. at Government and Belleville Street. Following the parade, Santa will be handing out cookies and milk in the square so stick around for the games, fun, food and entertainment. 


S’mores on the Veranda

November 25 – December 23

The Fairmont Empress

Gather your friends for holiday cheer and head to the Fairmont Empress to delight in s’mores around the fire on the veranda. Sip hot beverages and enjoy Christmas bites overlooking the sparkling Inner Harbour.


Movie Night at the Market

The Victoria Public Market Movie Night is quickly becoming a tradition in the city! This year they’ll be playing The Holiday. Invite your friends, go early, grab dinner and make sure to snag a great spot. 


The Magic of Christmas Light Up

The Butchart Gardens

Every year the Butchart Gardens transforms for Christmas. At 5:00 p.m. in front of the Rose Carousel, the Light Up switch is flipped and thousands of lights illuminate the garden to mark the start of the Magic of Christmas.

Bastion Square

Join Threshold Housing Society for a Winter Carnival in Bastion Square. Enjoy live music, hot chocolate, an appearance from Santa Claus, a tree lighting and Christmas-themed activities for your family to enjoy!


Christmas at Hotel Grand Pacific

The Hotel Grand Pacific

Each day during the holiday season, The Hotel Grand Pacific will have cookies and cocoa and photos with Santa available by donation. They’re even running a holiday colouring contest for kids. 


Christmas at The Royal BC Museum

Christmas in Old Town | Father Christmas in Old Town | Helmcken House Christmas

Celebrate Christmas in Old Town at The Royal BC Museum and get a picture with Father Christmas himself as you take in the sights and sounds of Christmas long ago. Then stop by the Helmcken House for an Old-Fashioned Christmas experience. 


O Christmas Tea: A British Comedy

Award winning comedians, James & Jamesy return to Victoria with their outrageously funny Christmas comedy. Laugh off the stress the holiday season can sometimes bring with this incredible show of humour. 


Skate with Santa

Bring your little skaters to take the ice with Santa, play games, get their face painted and more!


Pancakes in Pajamas

Bring the whole family and enjoy brunch with Santa at The Hotel Grand Pacific. After brunch, decorate cookies and make crafts! 


The Magic of Christmas Dinner Show
