Between a dynamic growing environment on Vancouver Island, and residents devoted to buying local product: we have some incredible makers, bakers and growers here in Greater Victoria, we’ve compiled a comprehensive guide so you can explore them all!

 

DOWNTOWN

 

Bastion Square Public Market

Bastion Square
Opens for the season as of May, and is open every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 11 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m.4 p.m. until the end of September
Stretching from Victoria's waterfront on Wharf Street to Government Street, this colourful open-air market brings vibrancy to Bastion Square with its wonderful array of locally produced arts, crafts and entertainment. Watch artisans as they create, or sit and enjoy the market atmosphere at one of the local outdoor cafes.

James Bay Market

Menzies and Superior (Located on the grassy area at the intersection of these streets)
Every Saturday rain or shine, May 6 to September 30, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Whether you're a local in need of some fresh red peppers, or a visitor looking for that unique something from Victoria, James Bay Market has it.


Ship Point Night Market

Ship Point (Just below Wharf Street under the Visitor Centre)

Victoria Public Market

Monday to Saturday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.; Sunday and holidays 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Day Vendors in attendance daily 11 a.m. - 3 p.m, year round
The Victoria Public Market is a destination for hungry travellers and local food lovers. Located on the ground floor of the iconic Hudson Building, the market highlights local food producers at every level: farmers, fishers, butchers, bakers, cheese makers, preserves, brewers, vintners, florists and restaurants.

10 a.m. - 2 p.m. every Saturday, May through October, rain or shine.
Over 25 local and organic farmers, amazing prepared and hot food vendors, and dozens of local artisans.

June 13 through September, 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. on the second Wednesday of the month
Oak Bay Village is transformed into a European style street market. A wide range of fresh and local produce and food is available.

 

Saanich Sunday Farmers Market

1359 McKenzie Avenue
Sundays 10 a.m. - 2 p.m, July 8 through August 26
Visit the market every Sunday in summer for all things local, fresh and in-season.

 

Oaklands Community Sunset Market

Oaklands Community Centre (2827 Belmont Ave.)
Wednesdays, June 27 through August 29, 4:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Oaklands Sunset Market showcases 50 local farmers and vendors selling breads, granolas, teas, baked goods and olive oils, as well as artisans displaying crafts, arts and designer jewelry. Food trucks offer a wide variety of local eats and drinks are available in the biweekly beer garden.

 

Sidney Street Market

Taking place in the picturesque town of Sidney-by-the-Sea, the market features local food, crafts and gifts just a 20-minute drive from downtown Victoria. With over 150 vendors, there's something for everyone

Goldstream Farmers Market

Saturdays May 12 through October 20, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
The Goldstream Station Market is a community market in the West Shore where all the vendors make, grow, bake or raise the products they sell. Everything is produced locally and as fresh as possible.

 

Metchosin Farmers Market

Metchosin Municipal Grounds (4450 Happy Valley Road)
Sundays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., May (Mother's Day) to the last Sunday in October
A great place to buy fresh vegetables, breads, jams, salsa, baked goods and gifts (or crafts) for your loved ones.

 

Peninsula Country Market

Saanich Fairground (1528 Stelly's Cross Road, Brentwood Bay)
Saturdays 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. June 2 through October 6
This vibrant community market has more than 50 vendors weekly offering farm fresh products, jams and jellies, honey, homemade bread, cut flowers, assorted fresh meats, organic produce and a fine selection of arts and crafts.

 

Salt Spring Saturday Market

Centennial Park, Ganges (Salt Spring Island)
Saturdays 9 a.m. - 4 p.m, April 1 through October 27
Visit the market every Saturday for over 140 artisans and food producers. No dogs permitted.

 

Salt Spring Tuesday Market

Centennial Park, Ganges (Salt Spring Island)
Tuesdays 2 - 6 p.m, June through October
What's so special about this market? Vendors must "bake it or grow it" themselves.

 

Shirley Country Market

Every Sunday, June 25 through September 3, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m
Local artisans, crafts and farm fresh produce.

 

Sooke Country Market

Otter Point Road (across from Eustace Road)
Saturdays 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., May 5 through October
Featuring fresh local vegetables and fruit, baked treats and bread, plants, flowers and seeds, eggs, local arts and crafts including woodworking, leatherwork, sewing and jewelry.
