Don't miss out on the annual lighting of Uptown's 54 ft Christmas Tree and Christmas Parade. Grab a warm treat and arrive early to snag a great seat for this event.

 

11th ANNUAL HABITAT FOR HUMANITY VICTORIA GINGERBREAD SHOWCASE

NOVEMBER 16 – JANUARY 5

Check out the work of professional and amateur bakers showing off their creative abilities at the annual Gingerbread Showcase, supporting Habitat for Humanity Victoria. This year’s theme is “Building a Diverse Community.”

Shumka’s Nutcracker blends the grace and lyricism of classical movement with the strength and power of Ukrainian folk and character dance. This classic tale of young Clara and her dream Prince incorporates Ukrainian traditions and symbols, grand orchestral versions of Tchaikovsky's legendary score, and lavish sets and costumes designed by National Opera of Ukraine’s Maria Levitska.

 

CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS KICK OFF AT THE EMPRESS

Kick off your child’s holiday festivities with cookie decorating and hot chocolate at The Fairmont Empress. Then join the celebration on Government Street for the Annual Island Farms Santa’s Parade.

 

38TH ISLAND FARMS SANTA’S LIGHT PARADE

NOVEMBER 30

4:00– 8:00 p.m.
Centennial Square

Take part in the pre-parade festivities in Christmas Square (Centennial Square). Then watch the parade commence at 5:00 p.m. at Government and Belleville Street. Following the parade, Santa will be handing out cookies and milk in the square so stick around for the games, fun, food and entertainment.

 

WINTER VERANDA

NOVEMBER 16 – DECEMBER 23

Gather your friends for holiday cheer and head to the Fairmont Empress to delight in s’mores around the fire on the veranda. Sip hot beverages and enjoy Christmas bites overlooking the sparkling Inner Harbour.

Christmas in Old Town | Father Christmas in Old Town

Celebrate Christmas in Old Town at The Royal BC Museum and get a picture with Father Christmas himself as you take in the sights and sounds of Christmas long ago. Then stop by the Helmcken House for an Old-Fashioned Christmas experience.

 

THE MAGIC OF CHRISTMAS LIGHT UP

DECEMBER 1

The Butchart Gardens

Every year the Butchart Gardens transforms for Christmas. At 5:00 p.m. in front of the Rose Carousel, the Light Up switch is flipped, and thousands of lights illuminate the garden to mark the start of the Magic of Christmas.

Grab your friends and family, lace up your skates and indulge in copious amounts of hot cocoa during The Magic of Christmas at The Butchart Gardens. The festivities include colourful lights, Christmas carols, gingerbread and holiday cheer!

 

CHRISTMAS AT CRAIGDARROCH CASTLE

DECEMBER 1 – 31

10:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Craigdarroch Castle

Providing a unique glimpse into authentic Victorian traditions, each year Curator Bruce Davies and the museum’s staff assist long-time decorator Sherry Kerr to meticulously evoke Christmases past in the Castle’s period rooms. You’ll spot vintage toys tucked under the tree, festively decorated mantles throughout the home and a Christmas feast setting fit for Canada’s own royal family, the Dunsmuirs.

 

CHRISTMAS AT HOTEL GRAND PACIFIC

DECEMBER 1 – 25

Cookies and Photos with Santa 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Each day during the holiday season, The Hotel Grand Pacific will have cookies and cocoa and photos with Santa available by donation. They’re even running a holiday colouring contest for kids.

 

CHRISTMAS LIGHTS ACROSS CANADA

BC Parliament Buildings Front Steps

Come celebrate the lighting of the provincial Christmas tree and Parliament Buildings! Enjoy festive performances outside then join us inside for more music and seasonal treats.

 

O CHRISTMAS TEA: A BRITISH COMEDY

Award-winning comedians, James & Jamesy return to Victoria with their outrageously funny Christmas comedy. Laugh off the stress the holiday season can sometimes bring with this incredible show of humour.

 

Lights of Wonder

Downtown Victoria is transforming the square into a holiday wonderland. This outdoor event features themed light exhibits, four interactive light tunnels, and a 40-foot festive tree. With free admission and for all ages, Lights of Wonder offers live entertainment, warm nibbles, and magical light displays.

For a mix of comedy, music, sing-alongs and more, look no further than the Oak Bay Beach Hotel’s holiday-themed variety show – The Magic of Christmas. You’ll be treated to the full culinary and entertainment experience, complete with a cocktail reception, three-course dinner, show and more!

 

BALLET VICTORIA’S “THE GIFT”

DECEMBER 27 – 29

Ballet Victoria’s holiday tradition - the same theme but always very different. Accompanied by the Victoria Symphony and Tchaikovsky’s timeless score, this modern take on The Nutcracker follows Clara on a reimagined Christmas classic journey filled with wonderful new characters. From Harlequin dolls to dragons and fairies, a few mice and a Nutcracker ballerina, it’s an amazing holiday performance for the whole family.
