Lorna Dockstader’s recurring themes of purity and solitude are evident in her abstracted landscapes. She is particularly drawn to the landscapes of western Canada. “Echoes of Ocean and Mist” was inspired by a walk along Chesterman Beach on a misty September day, where high surf and crashing white foam left an indelible impression. The contrasts and fluid motion in the artwork reflect the artist’s experience of that powerful coast landscape.
