The Downbeat is proud to present a rare double headline event. Greg Gow and Nathan Barato are both Toronto techno legends who’s talents have taken them around the world. Both producers run their own internationally respected labels- Gow running Restructured Recordings and Barato running RAWthentic alongside Carlo Lio. We are in for a blissed out night of dance floor pressure- that would be just as welcome at the worlds best underground dance clubs.
Greg Gow is one of Canada’s most accomplished electronic musical talents. The award-winning producer and DJ consistently pushes the boundaries of his art, with his hypnotic sound, a skillful hybrid of soulful Detroit techno and his Toronto roots. Greg’s track I Knew Techno, released on his Restructured Recordings label, won the 2023 Juno Award in the Underground Dance Single Of The Year category.

Nathan Barato holds a firm place as one of the most sought after names in the industry. Masterfully blending house and techno, his unmistakable sound has opened doors to residencies with Music On and Paradise as well as securing bookings at a long list of top clubs across the globe. His no holds barred attitude to production has seen him drop dynamite releases on a diverse range of prestigious labels including Hot Creations, Hottrax, Relief, Saved Records and many more.

Greg’s track “The Bridge” was instrumental in re-launching Derrick May’s iconic Transmat label and his release on Kevin Sanderson’s KMS took the techno world by storm. Multiple collaborations have spread his sound to many leading labels, including Radioslave’s Rekids, Steve Bug’s Poker Flat, Christian Smith’s Tronic, Adam Beyer’sTruesoul, and Dubfire’s SCI+TEC.

We are also proud to present our DJ Competition winner Andrea Wolf who will be playing Techno, UKG, Latin tech before our headliners in her first appearance as a Downbeat resident. Opening the night, we have our DJ comp runner up Eelz. He showed us his diversity and will be opening with deeper techno and house sounds, excited to showcase the art of the opener.
