Managing Director, Under the Stump

With a passion for creativity, connection to people and sense of place, Trina Reid has had over 15 years of small business management experience. She and her family live in a remote community, Rocky Harbour, Newfoundland, Gros Morne National Park. The desire to share her story, honor her elders and promote her community helped to create Under the Stump Inc. in 2017. Trina and her family are motivated in sharing the Mi’kmaq culture, Newfoundland traditions, and remote scenery through experiential tourism. 

In 2021, there was a pivot in product development, to design soaps and candles using mother natures palate. The goal is to develop purposeful employment opportunities for her son with autism and persons with disabilities in her remote community. Trina believes we all have a story to tell, the right to learn, and responsibility to showcase our past as we excel into the future as indigenous women in business.
