Joe Baker is the Dean of the School of Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts at Centennial College.

A well-informed leader and educator of both post-secondary education and the tourism industry across Canada, he possesses first-hand knowledge of the needs and intricacies of the tourism industry as well as from a learning perspective through his own extensive education and remarkable career that spans from direct industry to higher education.

Joe embraces his role in leadership through the work he produces and his persistent desire to give back to his community and environment.  His School’s initiatives on sustainability have been fostered and led with enthusiasm and passion. He is dedicated to promoting sustainability through his effective and empowering leadership and this practice in motion through the way he runs his school. He has received many accolades throughout his impactful career and his revitalization of the learning experience has been positively embraced and recruited. Prior to his role as Dean, he held several senior leadership roles at George Brown College and in the restaurant industry  He is an active Board Member with Tourism HR Canada and the Ontario Tourism Education Corporation.  He is constantly engaging in Canadian tourism and hospitality projects in line with his values of sustainability and local sourcing.
