Amy Thacker
CEO, Cariboo Chilcotin Coast Tourism
A certified Emergency Information Officer, Thacker has successfully led her team through wildfires, floods and industrial disasters and piloted the creation of BC's first Regional Tourism Emergency Management program. In 2019 Thacker shared their learnings across the province resulting in the creation of Tourism Emergency Program Coordinators in all regions.
Amy Thacker, Chief Executive Officer of Cariboo Chilcotin Coast Tourism, has a strong passion for rural tourism and economic development. Thacker holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with majors in Project Management and Operations Management. She wrote and successfully implemented the first GeoTourism program in British Columbia encompassing parts of the Cariboo Chilcotin Coast, Vancouver, Coast & Mountains and Thompson Okanagan. Since joining the Cariboo Chilcotin Coast Tourism Association, she has led destination management, including award-winning programs such as the Gold Rush Trail, Great Bear Rainforest and Cariboo Reputation Recovery collaboratives. A founding member of the BC Tourism Emergency Management Committee, Thacker looks forward to continued improvement in tourism emergency management and believes the Cariboo Chilcotin Coast region holds unlimited opportunities for excellence.
