Martin Stitt

Area Vice President, Canada, Marriott Hotels of Canada

As Area Vice President, Martin Stitt is responsible for leading the hotel operations and business results for Western Canada including the implementation and execution of multiple brand strategies and initiatives. He leads the Area Team and General Managers from 26 Western managed hotels with over $500m in revenues as well as the opening of new properties, the most recent being the JW Marriott Edmonton ICE District. Martin brings more than 30 years of hospitality experience from across Canada.

Previously, Martin was Regional Vice President, Alberta and the Prairies for Delta Hotels and Resorts, where he oversaw 10 properties, as well as General Manager of Delta Calgary Downtown. As a member of the Delta Hotels and Resorts Corporate Operations Committee, he played a key role in the establishment and execution of brand service standards and initiatives. Martin has served in a variety of leadership positions in finance and operations from coast to coast; including, Regional Director of Operations for Ontario, and General Manager roles at Delta St. John's Hotel & Conference Centre, Delta Vancouver Suites, and Langdon Hall Country House Hotel & Spa, a Relais & Chateaux property.  

Martin holds an MBA from the University of Guelph, where he also graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce in Hotel & Food Administration. He Chairs the Policy Advisory Board for the School of Hospitality, Food & Tourism Management, University of Guelph and is a past board member of the Hotel Association of Canada.
