Wendy Avis

Manager, Environment, Vancouver Aiport Authority

Wendy joined the Vancouver Airport Authority in June of 2018 as the Manager of the Environment Department where she brings her expertise in environmental issues including climate change, waste and water management to YVR and has been instrumental in developing YVR's 2020-2024 Environmental Management Plan.

With a BA in Geography and Environmental Studies from Brock University and a Masters in Geography from the University of British Columbia, Wendy has worked at a variety of organizations including Environment Canada, BC Hydro, Vancouver Community College and the City of Vancouver. Wendy was the Vice-Chair of the 2002 UNEP International Children’s Conference on the Environment and has held roles on the Board of Directors of Connecting Environmental Professionals and the Glen Valley Organic Farm Coop.
