The Greater Victoria Region

Get the lay of the land to make the most of your Victoria vacation!

Downtown, Inner Harbour & James Bay

Victoria's bustling Inner Harbour area, framed with historic buildings and backed by distant snowcaps, lies at the heart of the city's vibrant, walkable downtown.

Victoria West, Esquimalt & WestShore

Johnson Street's iconic blue bridge leads to Victoria's Vic West, home to some of the area's grandest historic sites. The WestShore is your gateway to family-friendly communities with a unique connection to nature.

Oak Bay, Fairfield, Fernwood & Rockland

A vibrant community only ten minutes from downtown, Oak Bay is Victoria's seaside village. Fairfield is located southeast of downtown and is bounded by diverse natural features and historic buildings. To the west is Victoria's treasured Beacon Hill Park and to the south waterfront parks and walkways along the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Located in the heart of Victoria, Fernwood is a neighbourhood with a wonderful sense of character. Home to many artists and young families, it is primarily a residential neighbourhood, connected by a dynamic community square.

Saanich, Saanich Peninsula & Sidney

Stargazing, wine tasting, gardens and butterflies - the winding country roads north of Victoria are just the ticket for a romantic day out.

Sooke, Port Renfrew & Lake Cowichan

Oceanfront inns, legendary dining, wooded trails and surf-tossed beaches make Sooke, just half an hour west of Victoria, a favourite seaside getaway.

The Gulf Islands

These five bucolic islands (think white-shell beaches, artisans' studios and organic farms) on the sheltered eastern side of Vancouver Island are just a ferry ride away. Pick from popular Salt Spring or one of the less-travelled outer islands; each exudes a unique charm.
