    Annual Solo Bach Competition

UVic string students perform solo sonatas, partitas and suites by Johann Sebastien Bach for a panel of expert adjudicators.

Bach’s solo string works are considered some of the finest examples of Baroque music and showcase Bach’s exceptional skill as a composer and performer. The solo string music is renowned for its technical demands, intricate harmonies, and emotional depth, and continues to be widely performed and studied by musicians today.
