Follow a golden thread of birds, dappled forests and sun-sparked water in an exhibition of new work by Erica Messing and Lauren Grace Fox.

“There is a crack, a crack in everything. That’s how the light gets in.”

Inspired by the above line from Leonard Cohen, this small group show explores how light emerges through imperfection and vulnerability. Cracks and gaps – whether literal or metaphorical – act as gateways to deeper understanding, connection, and hope.

Each piece explores facets of this theme: spiritual illumination through natural landscapes, warmth and belonging in domestic scenes, personal revelations through artistic expression, and the transformative power of creativity. Art is presented not only as a reflection of these ideas but also as an inner spark that guides both the artist and viewer through challenging times.

Together, the works illustrate how the unavoidable but essential difficulties and flaws in life can lead to beauty, insight, hope, and transformation.

A message from the artists:

Come enter our world. Follow a golden thread of birds in flight, soaring through glowing, dappled forests and beside sun-sparked water.
