Auburn Blind is a truly Canadian indie/folk band composed of a core three of classically trained, multi-instrumentalist musicians who have joined forces over coffee, laughter, and the rigorous world of classical music. With Jessica’s pure and lyrical voice on lead vocals, Kai with their multi-instrumental and arranging talent, and Erin with their rich cello lines, their music creatively explores the human experience with power, intimacy, and humour, resulting in a unique and inviting take on the indie/folk sound.
You will hear original songs and some familiar tunes that you will recognize. Originally playing as a string trio (Jess on viola, Kai on violin, Erin on cello) to enrich the sounds of local bands Current Swell (Rifflandia), and Fox Glove (Rock the Shores, Let the Love In, EP recording), they wowed the Alix Goolden Hall crowd at the 2019 Love In with their rendition of Ain’t No Sunshine, and have taken off since then!

Their classical chops, applied to a love of songwriting and arranging, ability to play multiple instruments, and soulful vocal harmonies, create a wonderfully diverse and original range of sounds and moods. They publicly premiered at the Wood Stove Festival in Cumberland late in 2019. They put on their first public show on March 14th, 2020, and have performed all over Vancouver Island since then. They are currently recording for their first upcoming album!
