The countdown is on. On Wednesday, July 1, Victoria’s Inner Harbour and Legislative Precinct will host a full day of Canada Day celebrations featuring live music, cultural performances, community activities, local food and a fireworks finale.

Whether you’re coming for the music, the food or the fireworks, here’s what to expect.

Drumming Across Canada

At 11 a.m., join the Wong Sheung Kung Fu Club for Canada Day Drumming, a celebration of rhythm, community and connection.

Busking Showcase

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Ship Point will come alive with performances from local buskers showcasing a variety of talents throughout the day.

Food and Community

Food trucks will be serving throughout the day from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., offering a variety of options for visitors to enjoy while taking in the festivities.

Music and Performances

The main stage program begins at 4:30 p.m. with a welcome, followed by a performance from the Lək̓ʷəŋən Traditional Dancers at 4:35 p.m.

4:53 p.m. – Remarks from Will Greaves, MP

5:00 p.m. – Citizenship Affirmation Ceremony

5:30 p.m. – Linggo

6:45 p.m. – Bučan Bučan

8:00 p.m. – Covers in a Dangerous Time

9:10 p.m. – DJ Boitano & Friends

Fireworks Finale

The day concludes with a spectacular fireworks display over Victoria’s Inner Harbour at 10:20 p.m.

How to Get There

With large crowds expected, attendees are encouraged to walk, cycle or take public transit.

A free bike valet hosted by Capital Bike will be available from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Government Street between Belleville and Superior streets.

BC Transit will run on a Saturday schedule, with extra buses following the fireworks display.

Parking is free at City of Victoria parkades and on-street meters.

Access to the Coho and Clipper terminals will be maintained via Oswego Street.
