African Art and Culture Community Contributor Society – Issamba Centre

African Arts & Culture Community Contributor CCC Inc. (AACCCS), operating as ISSAMBA CENTRE, is a Black-led cultural organization founded in 2012. Our mission is to celebrate, preserve and promote African and Afro-descendant arts, cultures and heritage while creating opportunities for artists, entrepreneurs and communities to connect.

Throughout the year, we organize cultural festivals, artistic showcases, community markets, educational workshops and anti-racism initiatives. Our flagship event, AfriCa Fest, has been presented in Victoria since 2013 and has expanded to Québec City, and Montréal. Through these activities, AACCCS supports emerging and established artists, encourages intercultural dialogue and strengthens community inclusion.

Destination Greater Victoria is honoured to be based on the traditional territory of the Lekwungen-speaking peoples of the Songhees Nation and Xwsepsum Nation, whose historical relationships with the land continue to this day.
