Emily Carr Walk, Talk + Tour | From Her Beginning to End in Victoria
Come on a unique, historic and educational once-in-a -lifetime half day or full day experience touring through the life of the remarkable Emily Carr, Victoria’s beloved artist.
In the morning, we’ll tour 10 historical locations in the James Bay area of Victoria where Emily Carr lived most of her life, including the house where she was born, now a National Historic Site.
We’ll return to For Good Measure around 11:30 for rest and refreshments. For those who are keen for more. in the afternoon we’ll set off for the 2.5 km walk along scenic Dallas Road to the Ross Bay Pub where we’ll stop for lunch and more conversations.
After lunch, we’ll cross Fairfield Road to enter Ross Bay Cemetery for a 90 minute presentation at Emily Carr’s gravesite by Molly Raher Newman, renowned for her portrayal of the legendary artist and author for the past 20 years. You’ll learn interesting stories and facts about Emily’s remarkable life all day long. Meet up at 1:45pm at the cemetery entrance on Fairfield Road, opposite the south end of Stannard Street. The Emily Carr presentation starts at 2pm. Tix are $5 per person and can be purchased at the cemetery meet up location.
