Gettin’ Higher Choir presents “Songs for This Moment” with Patti Powell
The Gettin’ Higher Choir, with directors Cathy Baker and Dick Jackson, are delighted to present Songs for This Moment, featuring special guest Patti Powell.
Patti is an inspiring, energetic and musically gifted community song leader, singer-songwriter, and harmony enthusiast from Vancouver, BC. She leads four ongoing singing groups and is also a member of the brand-new vocal trio Good Things.
Together, Patti and the choir will share a rich and varied collection of songs chosen for the messages they carry—songs of hope, resilience, compassion, courage, and connection. The program includes both familiar favourites and newer discoveries from Canada, Ireland, South Africa, and the United States, featuring music by artists ranging from Dave Gunning and Enya to Stevie Wonder, alongside some of Patti’s own uplifting repertoire.
One of the highlights of the evening will be hearing Patti and the Gettin’ Higher Choir join voices on several songs, creating the warmth, energy, and sense of community that live singing does best.
