Ghana gained independence on March 6th, 1957. Every year in March, we take time out to celebrate our roots and share our cultures. It is always a fun day filled with Ghanaian cuisine, music, cultural displays, dance, games and happy faces. It is a great opportunity to reconnect with friends and make new ones. It is also a good moment to learn about Ghanaian cultures and people. We always strive to ensure that everybody no matter their nationality feels welcome. It happens only once a year though, so don’t miss it.

Come join our celebration on March 9th, 2024. This is our website

Destination Greater Victoria is honoured to be based on the traditional territory of the Lekwungen-speaking peoples of the Songhees Nation and the Esquimalt Nation, whose historical relationships with the land continue to this day.
