Step into the world of fine spirits with Laurent Lafuente, a Swiss-trained, French oenologist and distiller whose expertise has shaped award-winning spirits across the globe. With a degree in Oenology and Viticulture (Engr. HES) specializing in distillation, Laurent’s research led to scientific publications and international recognition. Before joining Merridale in 2012, he crafted rums for some of the world’s most renowned distilleries—developing a 50-million-liter rum portfolio in Guyana and serving as Master Blender in Antigua for a decade.

Now, he invites you to an intimate Distillery Master Class—a rare opportunity to learn from a veteran of the craft. Laurent will share the history and science behind Merridale’s spirits, dating back to 2007, while guiding you through a tasting of aged selections straight from the barrel. You’ll refine your palate, uncover the secrets of balance and complexity, and enjoy expertly paired small bites created by our kitchen.
