Movie Nights at the Museum: “My Doukhobor Cousins”

By Donation

The Sidney Museum is hosting several movie nights this fall on topics related to our current exhibits “Lost Liberties: The War Measures Act” and “Displacing Differences”. On November 21st we will be showing “My Doukhobor Cousins”.

In our “Displacing Differences” display, the Sidney Museum has explored the history of the penitentiary on Piers Island which in the 1930s was the site of incarceration of several hundred Sons of Freedom Doukhobors. “My Doukhobor Cousins” is a documentary that looks at one family’s history who were affected by harsh government policies.

The screening will start at 7:00pm at the Sidney Museum, 2423 Beacon Avenue, Lower Level. Admission is by donation.

Please RSVP to [email protected] so we can get a sense of numbers.
