String of Legacy – A Kora Journey is an intimate live concert and closing dinner experience celebrating Black History Month through the ancestral sound of the kora.

Renowned kora masters Senny Camara and Zal Idrissa Sissokho come together to share the language of 21 strings, a dialogue rooted in centuries-old West African griot traditions. Their performance weaves storytelling, memory, rhythm, and melody into a powerful musical journey that transcends borders and generations.

Guests are invited to enjoy a curated dinner experience alongside the concert, creating a warm and immersive evening of culture, music, and connection. This special event honours African and Afrodescendant heritage while offering Victoria audiences a rare opportunity to experience the kora live in an intimate setting.

Destination Greater Victoria is honoured to be based on the traditional territory of the Lekwungen-speaking peoples of the Songhees Nation and Xwsepsum Nation, whose historical relationships with the land continue to this day.
