Victoria Dragon Boat Festival
Free
The Victoria Dragon Boat Festival is a high‑energy summer tradition that brings colour, competition, and cultural celebration to Victoria’s Inner Harbour. Founded during the 1994 Commonwealth Games, the festival has grown into the Island’s original dragon boat event, drawing teams from across North America to compete in thrilling races right in the heart of the city. Set against the backdrop of Ship Point, the Inner Harbour, and nearby Chinatown, the multi‑day festival also features live music, cultural performances, local food vendors, and family‑friendly activities making it one of Victoria’s most anticipated and lively waterfront events.
Destination Greater Victoria is honoured to be based on the traditional territory of the Lekwungen-speaking peoples of the Songhees Nation and Xwsepsum Nation, whose historical relationships with the land continue to this day.
