Vox Humana Chamber Choir presents: Dreams and Visions
$30 adults / $30 seniors / 25 and under: free
A choral concert exploring the beauty and strangeness of dreams through works by Whitacre, Britten, Tallis, Elgar, Tavener, and more.
Centered around Eric Whitacre’s ‘Leonardo Dreams of His Flying Machine’, and Benjamin Britten’s ‘Hymn to St. Cecelia’, the concert will explore the eclectic and spiritual forms that dreams and visions can take. From flying machines, to dragons, speaking in tongues, mythical figures, and the immortality born of creative vision. We can dream and imagine what we want for our lives, but often dreams and visions come with unintended strangeness, which makes the experience all the more colorful and mysterious. The concert will also include music by Thomas Tallis, Andrew Balfour, Edward Elgar and John Tavener.
Destination Greater Victoria is honoured to be based on the traditional territory of the Lekwungen-speaking peoples of the Songhees Nation and Xwsepsum Nation, whose historical relationships with the land continue to this day.
