Swan Lake Christmas Hill Nature Sanctuary

3873 Swan Lake RD Victoria BC V8X 3W1

Welcome. Come and explore a beautiful place.

Swan Lake Christmas Hill Nature Sanctuary is a wild oasis in the heart of the urban landscape and includes two distinct ecosystems: the beautiful marshland of Swan Lake and the rocky, oak-forested highlands of Christmas Hill. Both are home to an incredible array of native plants and wild animals.

The Sanctuary is a living classroom fostering an understanding and appreciation of nature through direct experiences. Educational programs for all ages encourage responsibility for the care and protection of the natural environment. To protect our native plants and animals, please remember that dogs are not permitted in the Sanctuary.

Swan Lake Christmas Hill Nature Sanctuary is home to some of the region’s best bird watching. A floating bridge and platforms allow nature enthusiasts an opportunity to observe the many avian species of the park in their natural environment. Don’t forget your camera, Swan Lake provides an intimate connection with urban nature allowing for some breathtaking close ups of your favourite birds and plant life.

Managed by a non-profit society, this urban refuge provides an exceptional opportunity to bring people and nature together.

We welcome you to explore and discover.
