The Gift of Local Goods: Visit The Mother’s Day Art & Craft Fair

Delight mom with some shopping and join Victoria Market Collective at The Bay Centre for their Mother’s Day Art & Craft Fair.  The wonderful ladies of Market Collective have curated a line up of local and handmade Artisans selling their treasures, to help celebrate and shower mom in gifts. This event is free and features door prizes to the first 100 shoppers, as well as an entry to win a $600 gift basket! The Fair will be ongoing from May 7-8, 2022 during The Bay Centre’s open hours.

The Gift of Sweets: A Box of Rogers' Chocolates

Does mum have a sweet tooth? Pick up an elegant assortment of Victoria’s most famous hand-crafted chocolates from Rogers' Chocolates. They offer a beautifully bundled Mother’s Day assortment that would pair perfectly with flowers and a bottle of craft-cider (might we suggest Merridale Cidery and Distillery?). While you’re there, get a delicious box for yourself, just in case. But maybe she’ll share!

The Gift of Music: Partake in the Mother’s Day Musical Garden Tour

Does your mother have a good ear for music, or a passion for gardening? Take her out to the Victoria Conservatory of Music’s event: the Victoria Mother’s Day Musical Garden Tour. Without giving too much away, the tour takes you through ten spectacular private gardens (exclusive to this tour!) as well as a treasured public garden, all the while enjoying music from students and faculty of the Victoria Conservatory. There will also be a plant sale on-site – a great opportunity to delight mom with take-home florals. This event is happening May 7th to 8th from 10am – 4pm.

Their sister store, Tonic Jewelry, is also located in historic Market Square, and showcases a collection of local and ethically designed jewelry as well as their own in-store design line.

The Gift of Learning: An Annual Pass to the Royal BC Museum

For the gift that just keeps giving, treat mom to an annual pass to the Royal BC Museum. Explore their core galleries, immersing yourselves in tales of where we've been and where we are going. Marvel at the totems and cultural treasures featured in the world-class First People's Gallery. Experience highly realistic settings, such as the Woolly Mammoth commanding his rocky, icy world. With pop-up exhibits offering rotating subject-matters to learn about, no two visits to the Museum are the same. Our museum also hosts the largest Imax Canada screen in British Columbia; an immersive and educational cinematic experience that will leave you feeling like you’ve experienced something truly special.

The Gift of Shopping: Take her to Merchant Quarters General Store

Gifts, gifts, and more gifts! Spoil mom like she’s spoiled you, by taking her to pick out something at Merchant Quarters General Store. This storefront is fashioned from the early general merchants stores of the 1800's, where a room would be filled to the rim with offerings – from flannel shirts to cheddar cheese. In a nutshell – they offer almost everything! Go in and see it for yourself; their storefront is set on the corner of Victoria’s charming Government Street.
