Currency & Taxes

Canadian currency is in dollars and cents. Our one dollar and two dollar denominations are coins, commonly referred to as loonies and toonies, respectively. Other denominations are bills.

The Provincial Sales Tax (7%) and Goods and Services Tax (5%) applies to most goods and services purchased in Victoria and British Columbia. Expect to be charged a 12% tax on top of the displayed retail price.
