A major part of Tourism Victoria's commitment to support its members is to encourage them to connect with the many services and advantages it offers - including corporate events, member events, workshops and monthly mixers, all of which promote networking and business development.
Our corporate and member events enrich the wonderful world of membership and help you make informed decisions about participating in the many member opportunities we provide. The following is a list of ongoing events designed to engage members with Tourism Victoria.
Membership Matters Mixers
Attend these monthly events to network, exchange ideas and meet new contacts in a fun and informal environment. Tourism Victoria Membership Matters Mixers provide a comfortable way to interact with other vibrant business people and enjoy tasty refreshments at a wide range of venues across Greater Victoria. Unless otherwise advertised our mixers are reserved exclusively for Tourism Victoria members and their staff.
Seminars & Workshops
Tourism Victoria offers member development workshops on a wide range of topics - from business development tools to tourism industry updates and marketing techniques. Our Membership Matters eNewsletter will keep you informed so you do not miss these valuable learning opportunities.
WorldHost® Training Customer Service Workshops

Ensure that Tourism Victoria staff members are informed about your business by scheduling a Coffee Talk at our Corporate Office. A Coffee Talk is a 20 minute informal presentation during which you tell us about your business, your products and/or any new services you offer. This is also your chance to meet our staff to learn how you can benefit from working with us. A Coffee Talk is a powerful way for you to ‘kick start' your new membership or, if you are an established member, update us about your business. We also encourage you to present CoffeeTalks to the staff at our Visitor Centre.
Annual General Meeting
Tourism Victoria's Annual General Meeting (AGM) is an opportunity for the whole membership to meet, learn about our achievements of the past year, approve the audited financial statements and review the previous year's Annual Report. The AGM is also when Tourism Victoria honours community leaders with the presentation of our Miracle and Life Members Awards.
Annual Christmas Luncheon & Elections Meeting
Held in early December Tourism Victoria's Annual Christmas Luncheon combines a traditional turkey luncheon with raising funds for the BC Hospitality Foundation, Tourism Victoria's Official Charity Partner. It also includes a short elections meeting and the introduction of the new Board of Directors. One of Tourism Victoria's most popular events the Christmas Luncheon provides a great opportunity for networking and definitely gets our members in the holiday spirit.
