Luxury Four-Day Travel Itinerary

In a city that has hosted many Royal visits (including Queen Elizabeth and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge!), royal treatment and Victoria, BC go hand-in-hand. Our marinas are speckled with seaplanes and yachts, our terrain with golf courses and wineries, and our city with charming luxury hotels that are designed to provide you with the rejuvenating experience of your life-time.

SUGGESTED ACCOMMODATION: OAK BAY BEACH HOTEL

Nestled on the coast of the east side of Victora is your next VIP experience. The multiple award-winning Oak Bay Beach Hotel is a luxury boutique property like none else, offering show-stopping views of snow-capped Mount Baker with the Salish Sea as its foundation. What stands out about this elegant hotel is their oceanside mineral baths, steam-sauna rooms, and their restaurant, FARO – known for their delectable, handcrafted pizzas and incredible ocean views.

FAIRMONT EMPRESS

Presenting to you: the Castle on the Coast. The chateau-style Fairmont Empress is a true icon of Victoria, BC, essentially marking the pinpoint for downtown’s core. Emanating modern luxury, the hotel’s Willow Stream Spa, Q at the Empress Restaurant, Q-Bar’s unique atmosphere and cocktail culture, and their famed high tea experience all play a part in painting Victoria as the unique, fit-for-royalty city that it is.

BRENTWOOD BAY RESORT

We are all deserving of extraordinary experiences. This is the tag-line of the beautiful Brentwood Bay Resort – where extraordinary may be an understatement. Located on the Saanich Peninsula just 20 minutes from downtown Victoria, Brentwood Bay Resort is surrounded by lush, natural beauty and world class views of the ocean, gracefully displayed in their suites’ floor-to-ceiling windows. Their restaurant the Arbutus Room, their spa, and their 50-slip Marina all add to the property’s elegance, making every experience a unique and beautiful one.

DAY ONE

Arrive to your dream vacation via helicopter, with Helijet International Incorporated. You won’t be able to tear your eyes away from the window as you get a sweeping eagle’s eye view of Vancouver Island, the Salish Sea, and your final destination – beautiful Victoria. You will land at the Heliport located in Victoria’s oceanside James Bay neighbourhood, with the magnificent Ogden Point Breakwater and colourful Fisherman’s Wharf as your first impressions of our city. With Victoria, it’s all about the journey.

After such a notable arrival, it’s time to stretch your legs! Take a private e-bike tour with The Pedaler Cycling Tours and Rentals along Victoria’s coast. This two-hour guided tour is a gentle, leisurely ride through Victoria’s most picturesque neighbourhoods and landmarks, stretching from Beacon Hill Park outwards to the impressive Craigdarroch Castle Historic House Museum. The Pedaler’s fleet of e-bikes allows for faster journeys and a more relaxing, trendy experience. Electric Tandem bikes are also available for booking, which offer all the convenience of an e-bike… but for two!

The flavours of the famous Q at the Empress will leave your tastebuds dancing. The epitome of luxury, this recently renovated restaurant exudes ambiance with its modern twist on historic royalty. The Fairmont Empress’ wine list celebrates the best that the Pacific Northwest has to offer, mixed in with top vintages from around the world. Their carefully curated menu features sustainably-sourced seafood, farm-raised meats, and a wide, delectable variety of artisanal offerings. Look out the window for the best views our city has to offer – and if the sun is shining, why not sit out on the harbour facing Veranda? Enjoy this spectacular dining experience that is truly a fit for the Queen.

DAY TWO

Brunch and Victoria go hand-in-hand. In the city that is celebrated as Canada’s Brunch Capital, there is a plethora of incredible options with restaurants that have perfected the careful art of a memorable brunch. We recommend taking the morning slow, sleeping in, then making your way to The Courtney Room for weekend brunch or breakfast. Here, the old world meets new in an air of timeless elegance, with a menu that boasts the local community’s fresh bounty. Indulge in their Crab & Gruyere Omelette or their delicious Smoked Salmon Benny to fuel up for your eventful day ahead.

Treat yourself to the pampering that you deserve. Newly opened Ritual Nordic Spa takes inspiration from traditional Scandinavian spa-styles, reimagining Finnish traditions that move through hot elements to cold. Cycle through traditional cedar and basswood saunas, a eucalyptus infused steam room to cold plunge pools, and a Nordic bucket shower for a time-tested way to improve your health and wellness. If you’re needing an additional way to wake up after breakfast, the bucket plunge followed by an added-on massage treatment will have you feeling exceptional.

Are you missing the incredible vistas from yesterday’s arrival? Let Harbour Air Seaplanes come to your rescue, with their fan-favourite panoramic sea-plane tour of our city. Take in the beauty of Victoria’s twisting coastline, the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the majestic Olympic Peninsula before landing downtown back in the Inner Harbour. There are options to book a private tour if you’d like the plane for yourself or the option to receive FlyGuide In-Flight Commentary, seating of your choice, and complimentary pre-or-post flight beverages as well. There is no better way to see the island!

For over 8 years, Little Jumbo Restaurant & Bar has emphasized the fine craft of preparing fresh, farm-to-fork and sea-to table food focusing on continental and contemporary styles of preparation. Classic and modern styles blend here (an ever-popular theme of Victoria!), with an imaginative, rotating cocktail menu and savvy mixologists that are prepared to fix you up with just what you need.

DAY THREE:

Begin your morning with wellness in mind. In the summer, the Oak Bay Beach Hotel offers sunrise yoga classes at 8AM, taught by their very own Spa Manager, Tina Lyons. Each hour-long class is delivered in a Hatha/Vinyasa style that is suitable for all ages and experience levels. The classes take place on the extraordinary Seaside Garden Terrace overlooking the Juan de Fuca Strait. If you’re lucky, you may catch the occasional orca passing by!

Beat the heat by going for a morning golf session out at Cordova Bay Golf Course. With stunning, sweeping views of Haro Strait and Mount Baker, spectacular horticulture, 18 marvellous holes and year-round golf; your golf is meant to be a beautiful time to catch up with good company, hit incredible shots, and enjoy yourself in a relaxing, beautiful setting.

You’ve already had tee time, now it’s tea-time! No trip to Victoria would be complete without indulging in a glamorous afternoon tea experience. Head over to the Pendray Inn and Teahouse, located on Victoria’s scenic Inner Harbour to enjoy a custom passed down for generations. The Pendray’s relaxing ambiance is steeped in history & tradition, having been built in the 19th-century in an authentic Victorian style. Paired with exotic and international teas and personable service, you’re in for a charming treat. After your meal, roam around the immaculately landscaped hotel gardens to work off your meal – deemed one of Victoria’s most elegant wedding venues.

Following your day of golf is a seafood dinner that will have you raving to your friends at home. Head over to the award-winning Blue Crab Seafood House, located within Coast Victoria Hotel & Marina by APA. Pop champagne on their stunning waterfront patio and order some freshly shucked oysters, or opt to order one of their hard-to-find wines or yet-to-be-discovered gems.  Watch for very special seafood items you can’t find anywhere else, such as gooseneck barnacles or spot prawns. With the freshest possible, environmentally conscious seafood often caught that morning, their high quality of seafood can’t be replicated.

DAY FOUR:

On your final day, it’s time to attend a brunch that you will be raving about for years to come. “Akwaaba” or “welcome” to House of Boateng Café and Catering. Located only 25 minutes north of downtown Victoria, in the community of Langford, quickly became one of Greater Victoria’s favourite brunch spots and is well worth the drive. Chef Castro’s (a Yam Magazine and Eat Magazine chef of the year) uniquely designed menu playfully blends the flavours of West Africa and the Caribbean with Pacific Northwest Cuisine, leaning into our bounty of local, seasonal ingredients. Once you taste HOB’s delicious cuisine, it’s easy to develop a craving for it, and luckily for you many of their sauces, marinades, dressings, and pickles are available as take-home provisions for purchase.

Escape to Greater Victoria’s wine region in a custom, private tour in your very own Tesla. Fit for up to 6 guests, Alset Tours will pick you up from your hotel for your very own Craft Vine, Orchard & Stills tour, taking you to eight different Saanich Craft orchards and vineyards. Deep Cove Winery, Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse, and Church & State Wines are just some of the few delectable options you will sample as you take in the natural wonders of the Saanich Peninsula. Once you’re done, your private chauffer will safely escort you back to your hotel, or to your next destination. Cheers to a phenomenal day!

Wrapping up your final hours in Victoria (must you go?) is a sunset whale watching tour. Head over to Eagle Wing Whale & Wildlife Watching Tours for 3 hours on the water, catching both the majestic marine life and Victoria’s resplendent sunset at once. There’s something magical about those lazy evenings wrapping up after a long day of events, floating with the whales in the softly romantic evening light. Whale watching always seems more serene after the hustle of a busy vacation.
