BOB HALL – COMIC ARTIST & WRITER

 

Bob Hall

 

Bob Hall had a long association with Marvel Comics, where at one time or another he drew most of the major books and characters such as The Champions, Spiderman, Dr. Doom, Conan, Thor, The Fantastic Four, The Submariner, Captain America, PSI Force, The Avengers and The New Mutants. He was the artist for the West Coast Avengers mini-series and was the primary artist on the original Squadron Supreme. He drew movie adaptations of Willow, Dark Man and the notorious first Captain America movie as well as pencils and inks for the graphic novel, Emperor Doom. Bob was an editor at Marvel in 1979.

For Valiant he wrote and penciled the monthly series Shadowman, wrote Timewalker and then created Armed and Dangerous, a black and white “comicbook-noir” series. For DC he wrote and drew the Batman graphic novel projects, Batman DOA, I Joker and It’s Jokertime. In 2016, he wrote and drew an educational/fantasy about the measles virus for the University of Nebraska called Carnival of Contagion.

JORDAN STRATFORD – AUTHOR

 

 

Jordan Stratford has been pronounced clinically dead, and was briefly (mistakenly) wanted by INTERPOL for international industrial espionage. He is an ordained priest, has won numerous sword fights, jay-walked the streets of Paris, San Francisco, and São Paulo, and was once shot by a stray rubber bullet in a London riot. He lives on a tiny windswept Pacific island populated predominantly by realtors and carnivorous gulls.

He is the author of the 4-part (so far) Wollstonecraft Detective Agency series, which is being adapted to a video game for Android and iOS, and has been optioned for television. He has been featured in boing boing, c/net, WIRED and io9, and is represented by Heather Schroder at Compass Talent, New York.

ED BRISSON - COMIC WRITER 

 

 

About Ed:

BIO: Ed Brisson is a comic book writer who first started to garner attention with his self-published crime series MURDER BOOK. He broke into the public spotlight in 2012 with the crime/time-travel thriller series COMEBACK (Shadowline/Image Comics). In the short time since then, he's written and co-created four other series published by Image: SHELTERED, THE FIELD, THE MANTLE and THE VIOLENT.

His self-published series MURDER BOOK was collected and released by Dark Horse in early 2015.

Ed has also written for BOOM (SONS OF ANARCHY, CLUSTER, THE LAST CONTRACT), Marvel (SECRET AVENGERS, SECRET WARS BATTLEWORLD), DC (BATMAN & ROBIN ETERNAL), IDW (TMNT/X-FILES CONSPIRACY) and many others.

He's currently writing CABLE, IRON FIST and OLD MAN LOGAN for Marvel.

He's been nominated for the Joe Shuster Award for Best Canadian Writer several times.

He lives in Kelowna with his wife and daughter.

About Leah:

BIO: Leah Cairns is a Canadian actress best known for her role on the reimagined Battlestar Galactica as one of the Raptor pilots, Lieutenant Margaret "Racetrack" Edmondson. Leah currently shares the screen with Eric McCormack on the hit Netlfix Original Series Travelers,.

Leah also appeared in Christopher Nolan’s 2014 SciFi blockbuster Interstellar appearing in scenes with Jessica Chastain, Casey Affleck and Topher Grace. She has also starred alongside Al Pacino in 88 Minutes (2007), Ashley Judd in Helen (2009) and everybody’s favourite Assistant Director of the FBI Mitch Pileggi in Mega Cyclone (2011). She has also guest starred in several t.v. series including Supernatural, Bates Motel, Motive and Sanctuary as well as being a series regular on ABC Family’s Kyle XY.

Being a Sci-Fi fan herself, Leah is very excited to attend Victoria's inaugural con, which will also be her first appearance at a convention in Western Canada.

BIO: American actor, singer and songwriter James Marsters first found international fame playing punk-goth Brit vampire Spike in the critically acclaimed American TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the equally popular spin-off Angel. Film roles include live-action film Dragon Ball, romantic love story P.S. I Love You with Hilary Swank, Gerard Butler and Kathy Bates, USA Original true-crime film Cool Money, independent thriller Shadow Puppets, Winding Roads, The House On Haunted Hill and Chance with Buffy co-star Amber Benson. The Californian actor, who grew up in Modesto, has also played Professor Milton Fine/Brainiac in TV’s Smallville and guest starred in Without A Trace, Millennium, Andromeda, The Mountain, Saving Grace and most recently Caprica and Hawaii Five-0.
