A collaborative national dialogue on innovation and the contribution of tourism to Canada’s sustainable future.

Mark your calendars
for January 23-26, 2022!

IMPACT Sustainability Travel & Tourism was at the forefront of gatherings addressing sustainability and resiliency within the Canadian tourism industry when it launched in 2018.

Created with the goal of aligning the Canadian tourism industry – as well as stakeholders and communities touched by tourism – behind a vision to achieve economic, social and environmental sustainability, we have been grateful for the overwhelming support we received as we planned for the 2021 event.

Sadly, we are faced with a grim reality. The second wave of COVID-19 is continuing to decimate the tourism industry. Tourism businesses are fighting for survival and DMOs are doing all they can with skeleton crews. Hosting a more robust conference focusing on resiliency and the future in early 2021 just seems too soon.

Instead, we are preparing for a brief, virtual session about Our New Reality: Embracing Disruption on March 31, 2021, for our stakeholders with the leaders we need to hear from, now more than ever.

This is not stopping us from planning for those very important, intensive and provocative conversations IMPACT has been known for, later in the year and also in 2022, when the industry is ready to look beyond day-to-day survival.

For all those tourism leaders sharing their knowledge on resiliency and how to build a better tourism industry going forward, we applaud you and will join you in these important conversations. For now, we know time and resources are precious and we want to be respectful in how we use yours.

We will keep in touch via newsletters and social media and we look forward to updating you on our programming for later this year and into 2022.

Thank you to 2021 sponsors, MMGY Global, FortisBC and Tourism Vancouver Island.
