Oliver has worked with over 50 tourism boards around the world to develop sustainable growth and management plans. Oliver was formerly a partner with global sustainability consultancy and B-Corp, GlobeScan where he led the sustainable thought leadership practice for clients including Tata, Unilever, Rio Tinto, Asia Development Bank and BBC World Service. He was also co-facilitator of the world’s first major business crowd-sourcing forum, the Unilever Sustainable Living Lab, to identify solutions to sustainability challenges.

Oliver has served as the Associate Director of the Pacific Asia Travel Association's Strategic Intelligence Centre. In addition to co-managing the Centre’s research portfolio, Oliver was a frequent panelist on CNBC Asia’s morning news program commenting on the business case for sustainability. He also facilitated the PATO CEO Challenge - the largest forum of senior tourism industry leaders discussing best-practice in CSR. Oliver started his career at Destination Canada where he worked progressively in senior positions in strategy, research and the Office of the President.

He holds a Graduate Certificate in International Marketing from University of Toronto and a Bachelors in Economics and Politics from Wilfrid Laurier University. Oliver is on the Board of Directors of women's rights development organization Oxfam, Chair of the Board of Trustees of the PATA Foundation and a member of Destination Canada's Research Advisory Council.
