2020-2021 Membership Updates

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Destination Greater Victoria memberships for 2020 will be extended through 2021. Details on this policy can be found here.

Victoria Vacation Guide 2020-2021

Dear Valued Members,

The COVID_19 pandemic has disrupted plans for all elements of the Visitor Economy including Destination Greater Victoria. However, we have now turned the page from shut down towards re-emerging and rebuilding. As our business partners we wish to continue delivering value to our members, particularly with regard to your incremental partnerships and investments with our organization. Today we are clarifying that the 2020 Destination Greater Victoria Official Vacation Guide will also serve as the 2021 Destination Greater Victoria Official Vacation Guide. This ensures all members who purchased advertising space and enhanced listings will receive the full benefit of their investment over two years.

All of the Vacation Guides will be distributed to targeted and bona-fide customers, although given prevailing circumstances it might just take a little longer to do so. As we gear-up for what appears to be a limited reopening of the Visitor Economy in 2020, we are currently distributing the Official Vacation Guide to those who are enquiring by phone or e-mail. Distribution is through Certified Folder Display in Victoria and we are also distributing Guides to other Visitor Centres that are planning to reopen. Should we run short of 2020 Official Vacation Guides before the next edition planned for 2022 we will consider our options at that time, including potentially a limited reprint.

Destination Greater Victoria’s management team is currently reviewing financial and projected demand scenarios to decide to what degree the 812 Wharf Street Visitor Centre will re-open this summer. With each day that passes it is becoming clearer that both medical advances and the current containment measures are progressing positively and society is slowly reopening. As we continue to gradually move forward we will remain mindful that providing value to our members is always a key priority.
